My encounter with Father Kentenich
Some people find inspiration in a book, a song, or a phrase that appears precisely when they need it most. And that's exactly what this idea is about: that each day you can take out a card with a quote from Father Kentenich and receive that inspiration to be better, to walk toward holiness .
My personal encounter with Father Kentenich came about in a very special way… and yes… and no… it was because of a card. It’s a long story that you might not read in its entirety here on the blog… or maybe you will, but not now.
It wasn't by chance: it was a gift from God. I'm absolutely certain of that, because it came into my life precisely when I needed it most. When I read that phrase that touched my heart.
My encounter with Father Kentenich was in Germany, at the Church of the Adoration on Mount Schoenstatt, very near the original Shrine, precisely at the site of his tomb. From then on, his story and his teachings showed me that he possessed a vision that understood the life of the heart, that spoke of hope, fidelity, and love for God and the Blessed Mother .
I had always seen the cards with their phrases; in fact, I had a few boxes at home. But many times I felt they weren't just pretty phrases: they were an invitation to live , a daily encouragement to grow in my spiritual life and personal commitment… until that day, in the middle of summer, when what I felt was so much more: it was an answer I had been searching for, one that brought peace to my soul and my heart during the most difficult time of my life.
Hence the creation of this box of cards with a special message : not just a quote from Father Kentenich, but also a motto that invites reflection and action , a small challenge to put his teachings into practice in our daily lives. This motto is the heart of each card: it doesn't remain just words, but calls us to live them .
But perhaps you've wondered: why a caricature of Father Kentenich and not a solemn photograph? For me, that drawing was made to convey something I feel in the founder: closeness, humanity, and joy . Father Kentenich is not a distant figure, but someone who looks at us with love, who accompanies us, and who even smiles with us as we learn to live our faith.
With these cards, I seek to connect people with the living teachings of the Founder , to draw them closer to the Blessed Mother, and to offer them a small daily reminder that God and the Virgin Mary are present . And perhaps, as happened to me, that they may one day have that heavenly encounter , bringing peace to their lives at the very moment they need it most.
